The Events Manager is responsible for maintenance and support of the food bank's community outreach and ongoing fundraising efforts, including signature food bank events, third party events, cause marketing campaigns, and virtual food drives.
This individual will manage and oversee events including the Walk against Hunger, Taste of Gratitude, Thanksgiving events, and all Community events.
This position reports to the Chief Giving Officer and provides support to the Director of Corporate and Community Giving, as well as other food bank staff as required.
General
Responsibilities:
Work is mostly independent; the majority of work is completed without supervisor's guidance, direction, and approval.
May provide supervision to direct reports; provides guidance and direction to others.
Requires a comprehensive understanding of the technical aspects, principles, theories, and concepts of the job and some knowledge of relevant disciplines, programs, and regulations.
Requires moderate verbal and written communication skills; conveys information that is somewhat complex, detailed, and/or subjective; has some influence over others.

Utilizes advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills to solve complex problems; resolves issues satisfactorily within policies and requirements; multiple approaches may be taken/necessary to solve the problem.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Acts as lead contact on all annual food bank events, and virtual food drives.
Manages and executes logistics for food bank events for external stakeholders, including donors.
Organizes and manages additional fundraising and promotional events, cause marketing, and third-party events.
Represents Connecticut Foodshare as a polished spokesperson during promotional and educational events.
Manages timelines, logistics, signage, and SWAG in partnership with the Marketing and Communications team including messaging for campaigns (including Feeding America and local campaigns) with the goal of increasing revenue raised and public awareness.
Provides budgeting and reporting on events, cause marketing campaigns, third party events, and virtual food drives.
Liaises with Volunteer Team to run and staff events and supervise tabling opportunities.
Works with Operations Department to coordinate and track food drive pickups and deliveries.
Works cooperatively with Feeding America and other Feeding America foodbanks on regional or national fundraising efforts.
Supports ongoing work of the Giving team, and promotional needs of other staff members.
Supports food bank's mission through education and involving the public.

Requirements:
Minimum Education/
Experience:
Associate degree in related field with 3 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment OR 5 years of related experience in similar or related function in comparable environment.
Experience with Microsoft Office (e.
g.
, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Education/
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in related field with 3
years of progressively responsible experience in similar or related function OR 7
years of progressively responsible experience in similar or related function.
1 year of event experience.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
