In addition, the Medical Assistant ensures that the clinical workstation is running smoothly, efficiently, and is responsible for keeping doctors and staff as close to on time delivery as possible.
The medical assistant is fast on their feet, and is quick to jump in to assist in clinical process such as removing casts, splints, sutures, staples as well as break down rooms, bring in patients, or perform intake as is required.
The Medical assistant is a model of professional behavior, is well groomed and crisply professional in appearance.
The Medical assistant assures that all doctor to doctor, phone notes and RX requests have a quick response.
The Medical assistant is responsible for professional clinical standards in the clinical workstation, that is, decorum is focused on patients, and the Medical assistant expected to expel anyone from the clinical workstation that is not there for work purposes.
The Medical assistant helps get patients where they need to be in the practice, and is always approachable to anyone who needs her/him.
Medical assistants prepare the charts the day before and follows through on any incomplete or missing test results from the chart, and secures them.
Medical assistants have the skill to be able to assess each patient's needs as they come into the exam rooms, either removal of bandages, need to change, set up of casting/splinting, injections, and has a general knowledge of why they are there, and informs the provider.
Medical assistants handle or route all doctor to doctor calls Set up Ultrasound Medical assistants assist physician with medical procedures, injections and casting and follows through on patient requests for information.
Prepare exam rooms, help RT's keep them clean, sanitary and stocked Applies DME when required Researches information requested by the Provider and has access to Hospital systems to find information required from that entity.
Monitors provider schedule while on the floor to assure on time delivery and helps wherever he/she can to accomplish this.
Medical assistants put in all Imaging, PT, Orders Complete all orders once patient is seen in the office.
Assist with DME responsibilities in the clinical workstation and applies casts.
Escort patients to the rooms, keeping rooms full Breaking down rooms Assist with intake when it is needed Set up meds, remove sutures, remove casts, and all other MA responsibilities in order to get the provider and patient handled on time, and efficiently.
Medical assistant does whatever has to be done in order to make this happen.
In general when Medical assistants are not directly assistant providers, they are helping with checkout, Authorization Mailbox, disability forms, and Admin line, intake, and/or triage, and are expected to cross-train to assist in these tasks.
Medline is responsible for insurance authorization, workers comp medication inventory and dispensing.
