Salary Range:
$175,000 - 240,000 base salary depending on experience and qualificationsThe responsibilities and expectations for the Director, Process Engineering are as follows:
Strategic Alignment:
Align Process Engineering (PE) team's priorities and goals with our technology and business strategies.
Collaborate closely with Business Unit leadership and department heads to lead development of new or modified processes and products to grow our analytical instrumentation product lines.
Process Engineering Lead:
Lead and grow process engineering team to support product and process improvements for reagents and consumables for our analytical platforms.
Manage complex projects that include process development, technical troubleshooting, production scale up, and process transfer.
Ensure all technical projects are introduced successfully into the business, on time and in budget.
Oversee and manage resources, including lab facilities and equipment.
Value and nurture the team members under your leadership, recognizing them as our most vital asset.
Communication & Collaboration:
Clearly articulate project goals, strategies, and outcomes related to development and implementation of production processes to all pertinent stakeholders.
Provide regular project updates to ensure transparency and alignment within PE team, collaborators, and management.
Foster robust and productive relationships with department leaders across Engineering, Operations, Assay Development, and Product Support.
Technical Expertise:
Provide scientific guidance to PE team on all projects using substantial knowledge, judgement, and intuition.
Possess an expert-level grasp of the interconnectedness of technical projects within the analytical platforms business and identify and drive implementation of opportunities for product or process synergy.
Routinely offer insights on project priorities, potential risks, and resource distribution.
Provide assistance during critical troubleshooting initiatives using operational and technical expertise.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities:
Experience with product development process, including direct experience with transferring products into production and process validation Excellent written and verbal communication skills in research and manufacturing environments Proven ability to lead scientific teams (5-10 people) to support and prioritize concurrent projects in an industry setting Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional groups Proven ability to efficiently make objective, inclusive, and unbiased decisions with imperfect information Demonstrated strong background to lead technically driven projects to meet deadlines Preferred Skills and Abilities:
Experience with immunoassays (e.
g.
, ELISA, western blot, MSD) or protein characterization techniques (e.
g.
, HPLC, cIEF, CE-SDS) Familiarity with microfluidics or capillary electrophoresis (CE) Experience working at life science RUO or IVD companies Understanding of DOE principles and relevant statistical software to guide process optimization Education and
Experience:
Master's degree or Ph.
D.
