Benhaven School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Paraprofessionals.
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide support to students and teachers in the classroom to ensure a positive and productive learning environment.
This is a Full-time, Monday-Friday, 35 hour a week, year-round position.
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and classroom activities Work with individual students or small groups to provide additional support and guidanceHelp to manage student behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environmentProvide assistance with classroom materials and resources, such as organizing materials and setting up equipmentCollaborate with teachers and other staff members to meet the individual needs of studentsCommunicate regularly with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and performanceParticipate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in education and special education best practices
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredExperience working with children or in an educational setting is preferredExperience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus, but will train the right candidate.
Strong communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentPatience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeedFlexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and teachersWillingness to undergo a background check and comply with school policies and proceduresEmployee Incentives:
