Vehicle Description 1984 Dodge W100 Custom Short Bed 4x4 The W 100 designation from Dodge, back in 84, signified a 4 wheel drive, 1/2 ton chassis.
This one sitting under a short bed body.
This is a 2 owner truck, who's first owner used it as both a lot/parts truck at their local dealership and later, around the farm.
The second owner bought it with the idea of creating a replica of his Sno-Commander/Sno-Fiter he had when he was much younger.
The first thing he did, roughly 12 years ago, was to get the rust issues taken care of and have it painted in it's original Spice Metallic Brown.
Over the next few years he installed a 2 Rancho lift kit with Rancho shocks and steering stabilizer, new rear driveshaft, he had the original 225 slant six replaced with a Jasper 225 slant six about 3-4 years ago, which now has about 8500 miles on it; had the 4 speed trans gone through and replaced the clutch, installed a new radiator, added LED headlights, put in new carpets, installed a new, leather, heated bench seat, new tinted, sliding rear window, Blaupunkt stereo and 31x10.
5 Kelly Safari Mud Terrain tires on Cragar chrome wagon wheels.
There is an AllStar plastic bedliner in place as well.
A set of steel wheels with original hubcaps and studded snow tires comes with the truck.
The truck itself has less than 100,000 miles on it, but he figured replacing the engine was a safer bet as it hadn't been started or driven in several years and was starting to make noise after a few years of regular driving after he purchased the truck.
The truck starts right up, runs very strong and drives and shifts well.
Other amenities the truck came with when new:
Power Steering, Power Brakes with discs in front and optional 11.
25 drums in back, 9.
25 rear axle, Dana 44 front axle and an NP208 transfer case.
The interior is in very nice condition, with the leather heated seat being very comfortable.
The dash has no cracks but is showing a little fading near the windshield and some minor wear on the dash trim and door cards.
The exterior looks beautiful, especially in the sun in the Spice Metallic paint, however, when one gets close, there are some blemishes in the paint including some small clear coat scratches and chips.
The biggest problem is after 10
years, there are a few rust areas popping up.
The first is along the drip edge/rain gutter on top of the windshield, it is only on the outer edge and not on the metal under it or on the roof.
The other are at the leading lower edge of the driver door and immediately beneath it on the rocker and a small spot on the right cab corner.
These are currently only in the paint and have not perforated the metal.
With new trucks in the 50-80K dollar range, getting into an older truck may get you less electronic options, but less headaches because of them and definitely a cooler looking rig, often for less than half or quarter the price.
This low mileage, great running, great looking W100 4x4 can be had for roughly a fifth of some newer trucks.
Asking price is $13,500.
