Vehicle Description 1967 Pontiac Firebird 400 Convertible.
The history on this car is known only from the 2nd owner on, who owned it from the mid 80's in Florida.
The third owner was also in FL and owned it through the nineties and into the early 2000's, he is the one who had the car restored /resto modded and painted red (from the original Mayfair Maize yellow).
The next owner was in NC and the 6th was in NJ and that's when the current owner comes into play about 2 years ago here in CT.
When the car came out of the factory, it was 326 HO, 4 speed console car, with tinted glass, AC, power steering, fold down rear seat and power convertible top.
When the car was restored, the 326 was replaced with a rebuilt 400, an Edelbrock 4bbl manifold and Holley carb were installed, along with Blackjack, aluma-coat headers, Derale Aluminum radiator, MSD electric ignition and Classic Air AC.
He also replaced the head rest buckets with low back buckets, installed a classic look digital/bluetooth stereo, three under-dash gauges and a new steering wheel.
A couple of years later he opted to install a Camaro rear spoiler and the Cragar wheels.
When the current owner purchased the Firebird, it had been sitting for a bit and he had the car gone through, tune up/all fluids done, brakes, shocks, new alternator, got the Classic Air up and working and had the paint buffed.
However, in the last two years he hasn't really driven the car and has decided to sell it.
The car starts easily with a high torque starter and idles and runs strong.
The shifter linkage is nice and crisp and tight and shifts easily through the gears.
All the bushings were done when the car was restored so the car drives very solidly.
This car is really a joy to drive, the torque of the 400 really moves the car quickly.
The 10 bolt GM rear end is held in place by a mono-leaf system with 2 torque bars.
The 18 years or so since the car was painted haven't been too harsh on the car as there are only a few minor blemishes in the paint, the interior is in very good condition, the convertible is like new condition.
The mileage is unknown, the odometer shows 64 miles and service records from the late 90's show only 46,000 miles, and we know that there are less than 10,000 miles on the rebuilt 400.
This car is easily a #2 car and fully ready to get in and drive without having to do anything.
The cost of this great red, convertible is $42,000.
